Yup that is a Mayhem RTR Not pro. If you are going to Race you have some upgrading to do to get it worthy to race. The Mayhem RTR does not turn worth a CRAP. YOu will need to get the Turmoil Ackerman, Also Plan on bending that front shocktower the first time you have a hard hit to the front end. And Decent motor mounts the RTR mounts are to high for a bump box You have the newer chassis so go for the onepiece mount. That will give you a great place to start for getting that Hem tamed and ready for the Track.
I was going to sell my Hem but found they are not worth anything on Ebay so Decided to keep it and let one of my Sons friends race it this year at our track with us. I have done all the above mentioned upgrade which brings it up to close to the Mayhem Pro Only thing left to take it to a full pro is to change out the Center bones to CVD. I found the Hem to be a great buggy to learn on I have had mine for 3 years. Took me that long to get decent enough driver to really compete well. I finally felt I was Worthy of upgrading to a True Pro buggy this year.
Have fun with it.

Well the good news is I'm not a racer. Just a Parkinglot racer lol.
Does the Turmoil ackerman just bolt up? The whole set up looks different on the turmoil. Thanks for the hint on the motor mounts as I plan on throwing a V-spec in there. Will the Turmoil pro towers bolt on? From what I can tell it looks just like a Turmoil but an aged version.

Yes all of the Turmoil parts will work on the Mayhem. When you go to do the Ackerman you will need the Turmoil Front bulkhead as they have a bit more cut out in them to alow the Ackerman to move without binding. only real difference between the turmoil and the Hem is the chassis on the turmoil is about 1/4" longer. One other nice upgrad is the Torkrod Chassis braces that the Turmoil uses. These also are a direct bold up so you can just put them in they replace them flat chassis braces you pointed out. You will enjoy the buggy should be a very good buggy for bashing. Parts are very easy to get on ebay for these also.

I was lookin on the bay last night and wow cheap parts for sure. So I can use the turmoil pro chassis??? Which center bone will be the longer one front or rear. The one piece motor mount has picco next to it on a-main. Will this work with all engines?
Thanks again to everyone for all the help. The last buggy I had I loved it but parts were obsoliete. EB-4 S1.
I was petrafied to drive it do to there being no parts support and and my only R/C at the time. I have loved the way buggys handle, easy to work on and durable. The greatest racers also make great bashers.

RE: *Official Sportwerks Turmoil Thread*
What starter box are people using for the Sportwerks Turmoil? I have a turmoil with .21 V2 w/o Pull-Start and currently using the Dynamite 5610C starter box. The problem I am having is that I am not able to place all four pegs on the starter box. I am only using t pegs on one side. The turmoil is to large for the starer box. Any one have any suggestions on what I can do to get all the pegs on it?
I have tried all the mounting positions (inline and sidewinder) but can't get the pegs to fit.
Any Suggestions?

What I used that worked the easyest for opening up and beveling the edges of the hole was a ROUND File The aluminum is soft and is easy to file off.
As far as alignment this is how I set mine up. If you dont want to strip the Chassis down atleast pull the motor off and align it that way.

Hi Guys , I'm joining the Turmoil ranks just ordered a Pro should be here Thursday. I was thinking of going with one of these three engines SW .21V2 or GO .21 7port or Jammin JPX .21. and these servos HI Tec HS5645 for steering and throttle. I will decide on a pipe once I choose the engine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard, the pro is a great choice. I can't help you much with the other motors but mine friends runs the SW21 with a JP1 or JP3 pipe and loves it.
I dropped a SW.26 in my pro and it starts right up, keeps an idle after 3 gallons.

Hi Guys, I just picked up a new Turmoil RTR on ebay for $280. Just wondering if anyone has tried these carbon fiber shock towers yet? Should I just stick with the turmoil pro towers as an upgrade or try these carbon fiber ones? Thanks!

I just put those on my Turmoil Pro. They fit great and look great. I didnt have an opportunity to weigh them, but by some rough calculations I figure that between the two towers they should drop 1-2 oz. I also bought the other top plates in CF, but I havent had a chance to put them on yet. Ill post pics after I get them on.

Gah, those plates do not fit worth crap! I had to grind a good 1mm of material off the radio tray to keep the spur gear from catching on it (I did about 2mm to be safe), and I cant get the front end to go back together right because the top plate does not fit right. As of now I am stuck trying to get the upper hinge pin retainer back on. Ill finish it tomorrow hopefully.
Err... I got impatient and just went and ground the hell out of it. It fits now. Its a little uglier than Id like, but you cant really see it anyways heh. Maybe Ill steal my GF's...

Does anyone know if parts are being discontinued for the Turmoil by Horizon?
Do they even make the Turmoil currently or are all kits for sale old stock?
