Default Diff. fluid levels

I need to know how much oil to put in your diff. I have been told both to fill to the top and only fill to the cross pins. What is the proper level? Any help would be apreceated thanks

I fill it a little bit above the cross pins. I don't think there is really any right way to do it just preference.

i fill my diffs 80% full, which is basicly just covering the gears. some people fill them half way, put the gears in and then just add some till it covers the gears.

I usually fill mine to the top. I just don't like having any air in the diffs. Just like having air in your shocks it will change the handling and you'll never have the same amount of oil in the diff everytime you change it and leave an air gap which will change your handling a little bit. Full is more consistant and you know its done right.

Edit: 75-80% is pretty much consisdered full because the bevil gear will take up quite a bit of space and displace the oil.
