I hate starter boxes, they give me problems all the time. What is my cheapest option besides them?
all my engines are bump start so I would have to ge back plates and such for other starters.

If starter boxes give you problem you can just imagine what leaky one-way bearings will do.
What kind of problems do you have. It can't get any simpler than a starter box.

a few tips. buy a seperate starter box for each vehicle you have, remove the motor from the car while you line up the wheel, if the blocks or pegs are able to move around when you bump them with the car, then go to the hardware store and get something to better secure them. like machine screws with washers and nut's.
once you get a starter box properly set-up for your rides, its the absolute easiest way of starting.

Depending what you have you can get one of these from TKO they require you to shim up the wheel. The beauty is put the car on it get it locked in push down. Viola running car.
