the UK TTR team first got their flat chassis at the Euros in France in 2005, they all had to dremel away the slot in the chassis to get access for the starter wheel!
you'd be better off doing that than getting a larger & probably heavier flywheel

Don't tune by temp. You'll shorten the engines lifespan. But to answer your question, usually between 200 and 300 F.

This buggy sounds great, and Ive read about Saxton's succsess with it too. I'm contemplating getting one, I currently own a TTR ST-1 Pro kit, with an Axial .28 rr, and she really screams. One prob I'm having with it is when I jump the tripple at our local track, it wants to twist in the air most of the time. Is this driver error , setup , or what? Some times she lands perfectly.

PS this trugg is tough as nails!!!

if you like the ST1 truggy I am sure you will like the buggy too. From what I understand they are based on the same platform.

Yes, its a great buggy. Underrated beyond belief, like most of Thunder Tigers products.

Are the ST-1 and S3 flat chassis the same? I know its a weird ??? , but I have a spare st-1, and was wondering if I could swap the delta for the flat?

Well I got my S3 this week, from ebay, couldn't be happier with the looks of it, and to say that it's in good shape is an understatement.
I believe it was yours ringneck, and I'm glad to have won it. It's gonna make a great addition to my ST-1 pro. All I need nopw is a box to start it, Ican get a chrome top for 100 bucks, or a ttr box for 75, what do you guys think?

Here's my s3 with new body, and all the cool red parts, cant wait to turn her loose on the dirt.
Thanks again ringneck, I love this buggy. The only prob is that I ran it with a dry air filter, and it doesnt stay running anymore, oh well looks like piston and sleeve time for me. I ordered a TTR pro 21 br from Amain, but its on back order, anyone run one of these?, I hear they're pretty good mills. $ 112.99 cant go wrong imo.

Gratz. It is a good buggy. I have 2 ready to race - one with the OG extruded chassis, and the other with the newer TTR extended chassis. My choice for a budget engine would have been the GO 7port, but I am sure you'll be fine with what you ordered. I may still have a few of Richard Saxton's old setup sheets. If you PM me a description of the track you run, I may have one of his setups for something similar.

I have a TTR pro box and the OFNA chome, both work perfectly.

Have fun racing the Thunder Chicken! LOL!

No luck with the mount yet, and I never tried to make a Frankenstien yet, no time! Although I'm sure it would work, most of the drivetrain is the same except for length and gear ratios, easily fixed.
Yeah it's nice to see TTR folks chattin away.

I have an S3, and an older .21 ttr engine that I finally got to fit in the buggy. I converted to the flat chassis, and now my starter box flywheel doesn't even come close to the engine flywheel. I really don't want to use the pull start. Does anyone know how I can get this to work without grinding the chassis away?
Someone told me to use an MGT flywheel that it is much bigger, is this true?
Any help would be appreciated.

Well I'm using the pullstarter for now, and I started the break-in tonight, and from what I have seen so far, wow this seems to be a good little engine. I only have 4 tanks in so far, and its already showing signs of greatness lol, never got over 175 degrees. Once the carb was set, it never stalled at all, idles forever, and has pretty good punch too and I was using a 15 tooth pinion. Can't wait to open her up 100%, I think she's a screamer![X(]

I have tried 3 different starter boxes, none of the wheels will fit the new extended chassis. My suggestion would be to try a different flywheel if you don't want to grind the chassis. Personally, I just used the dremel and I've never had a problem. You could try a werks or other aftermarket clutch system, I never have because the stock clutch shoes last forever in my S3.
