Default Differential slipping

On my LX Comp I just installed a JP-1 pipe on it and I think my center differential is slipping. When I'm at a comlete stop and give the buggy full throttle the engine revs kinda high, but it accelerates really slow. I took the body off and watched the spur gear and clutch bell and tried acclerating and the spur and clutch bell are spinning quite fast so thats why I think its the diff. How would fix the differential?

Run a thicker oil or just put oil in it. I sounds like it is dry.

Yeah, either clutch or flywheel slipping.

Take apart you clutch and center diff and see whats wrong!
Are your brakes rubbing? How about the center axels, are they turning too?

No its not the brakes. I'm thinking its the center diff going dry. I'll take it apart tonight to find out.

I just took it apart and the diff is dry. My LHS is closed today so I cant get any diff fluid, but could I use some shock oil as a temporary lube? I have 30weight and 45 weight shock oil.

if it was dry though wouldn't atleast the front or rear wheels be spinning fast. i would wait until you can get the right oil. also i would check anyway just for the heck of it.

This is why I bought a LX comp was so I can learn how to fix things because I don't know much about how the three differential work. Then after I learn how to fix things I am planning on buying either a Hyper 8 or a Jammin CR Factory Team so I wouldn't screw them up.

Even with no diff oil, you should have ok acceleration. Something else is wrong if you get high rev's and slow acceleration. That's usually a clutch issue.
