Hyper 7 or Hot-Bodies Lightning 2 Sport
I'm really stuck between these two. The hotbodies has a .26 engine and the Hyper has a .21.

What do you think??

RE: Hyper 7 or Hot-Bodies Lightning 2 Sport
Hi,
If you want to get Hobao from OFNA, I would suggest Hyper 8 but no RTR versions for now. Hyper 8 turns much better than Hyper 7. I had HPI and Hot Bodies trucks & buggies before and their steel parts are not strong enough to withstand the torture in 1/8 scale. They don't break but wear very fast. You know changing diff cups aren't a fun thing, not money issue.
Thx
Joaquim

Also, high capacity engines mean higher torque but don't mean fast. .21 size in buggies work best in weight distribution.

Walawala , I have NO problems with outdrive or cvd wear with my HB buggies , I have 2 , and a truggy , some of my outdrives have two years of racing on them and show minimal signs of wear . Durability is one of this buggies strong points .

To answer the original question , both engines suck .
Personally - Id say it might be your screwdriver hand that might be the problem ????

Tempermental pos IMO , sorry but the only way to make it run consistently is to put an OS carb on it . If I didn`t know how to tune , I would not be able to get 8 or more gallons through most of my motors .
To rephrase My comment , the Force .26 in the Hb is underpowered for it`s size and will last about 2-3 gallons with proper care , less if abused . The Hyper has enough power to race , a little weak on the bottom but revs pretty good , it can be really finicky to tune , some are bettter than others , put an OS rg carb on it and it will hold a tune all day .

Is the OS a 2 or 3 needle carb ... meaning .... High Speed, Low Speed and Midrange Needle ?
I find most people struggle with the Hyper .21's 3 needle carbs ....
