Hey guys...I need to decide about which engine to install whether OS 21 RG or a OS .21 VZ on a Hyper 8.

I have never seen a .21vz run before on any buggy.
My 1st engine was a OS 21 RG which is installed on my Traxxas Jato and the engine was so easy to tune and very durable I must say.

Where as the 0S .21 VZ is a performance engine. I am not a racer at all. Just need to do bashing and jumping.

So which engine is better on Hyper 8?

If not for racing, the RG is fine. You can also try Taiwanese SH and STS, they have very low price .21 engine (standard & modify) but not bad in performance at all.

I know many people racing the OS RG and that is what I put in mine. I have not run mine yet as I need a couple of things before I do but from a lot of people that I have talked to that have been racing buggies for years says the OS RG is the most underrated engine there is because people think it is not any good as it is so cheap. Most say unless you have a lot of long straight a ways is a good engine for club racing. The only problem is it has been discontinued and they are coming out with another engine to take its place, which is not going to me much better just cost more.

I agree that STS and SH make good engines. I like the SH better myself. If all you are doing is bashing I would get an XTM 457 which is made by SH but it is a .28 engine.

For bashing the Rg is perfect

Anybody with more suggestions regarding choosing the right engine was hyper 8 pro kit
