Went bashing with my Kyosho 7.5 and my buddy had an OFNA Ravager. My car lost the front left wheel drive early on so we decided to do an experiment on the ravager. It is the stock RTR with the Force .28 except for a 16t clutch bell instead of the 13t. We taped a Garmin eTrex GPS unit to the buggy. With a full tank of Tornado 20% we drove it around until it ran dry. The data from the unit reported the buggy topped out at 45.9 mph, the car moved for 9'51" for a total of 2.35 miles, and the engine ran for a total of 12'06." We figured with a 145mL fuel tank the fuel efficiency came out to be approx. 60.8 mpg!. Not bad for an engine burning methanol and nitromethane!
Anyone else ever tape a gps receiver to their R/C car either?

heh i got an etrex off ebay for like 36 dollars a few months ago for this purpose got my ultra comp up to 49mph with a 15tooth and my axial .28.. its pretty cool to do also lets you see the small differences the ratios make when you change the bell... i have a new buggy but with the same motor and such so i haven't bothered to mess with it... but thats funny you did the same thing with the same gps..

Cool
