I am getting BAD throttle servo Inteferance and movement but only when the engine is running.
It is an 1/8th Truggy with an SH .28 but I have had this problem with other engines as well.
I don't get it. Anyone else ever see this and can give some help.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum,
Sounds like you might have two pieces of metal rubbing together some where from vibration when the engine is running.

I have the Futaba 2PL. I will try a different crystal set in it. I have no bare wires, I have had this thing apart a zillion times.

When you say metal rubbing, do you mean like chassis and say an engine mount rubbing, like metal on the truck or wires rubbing?

Could be anything metal rubbing on anything else. I've had problems with clutch bells rubbing, sometimes diffs can do it too, although it hasn't happened to me, engine could be a bit loose or out of alignment, just check everything obvious. Then again, it could be your electronics. My buggy was doing that, after then engine was started, the steering servo turned hard right, and the throttle opened up to half throttle, and it lost all radio control. My problem turned out to be the fail safe, it got wet or something, but i replaced that and it's fixed now!! So realistically, it could be anything, you've just got to check everything. Hope this helped

I did check the engine mount and the block was not tight to the mount cuz it was binding and I fixed that. It seemed to work, but then I had it start again. Ima go though it tomarrow. I think the reason it is jittery is the fail safe is shoutin' it down and blipping it. The fail safe has never been wet but it does pick up something cuz the light keeps comin' on. I'll track it down. Thanks for all he help.

yeah mate its definately metal on metal causing the servos to chatter and is common. Virtually impossible to get rid off unless you use a high quality FM or Spektrum/nomadio system where chatter is eliminated.

I was just out with it a little bit ago, and it is still jumping very bad but only when the truck is around 10 feet from me. Outside of that it's fine.
What radio system can anyone recomend? I'm looking at the Spektrum systems but they can get pricey.

Check the connections in your reciever pack . sometimes the solder tabs come loose and will cause all kinds of glitching .

What sort of exhaust do you have on it? Is it the type that has a rubber coupling that holds the header and the tuned pipe together with zip ties? If so if you have the header or tuned pipe pushed in to far where they are rubbing against each other couple be the problem. Seen it happen before.
I have the Spektrum and will never go back to anything else. Have any of you ever noticed whey you have your receiver turned on and put the glow plug starter on and off how the servos will glitch for a second? With the Spectrum steady as a rock as well as I do not have to worry about a frequency conflict and at the races I can turn on my radio any time. I do not thing they are that pricey consider if you have a runaway do to a frequency conflict what could that cost?
