For any buggy in general, what are some good futaba servos to run on steering and throttle/brake?
About how much torque should I be looking for a servo to have?
I have some extra 9252's and was thinking they might just do the trick...Anyone use 9252's?
(do they even fit?)

you want a servo in excess of 100 oz. in. torque similar to hitec 645mg, 5645mg, fut s3305

also, the 9252 has nylon gears, those would be good for throttle use, but not steering, go with metal gears for steering.

i use a 9351. Its 192 oz in. andddddd i wanna say .13 sec. digital.
I like it so far.

for throttle/brake I've got an analog with somewhere in the ballpark of 120 oz in. Its a bit slower though. I forget which one it is.

Wierd...I would have thought a 9252 to be over-kill. Learn something new everyday.
So, you think it will work efficiently on throttle/brake? Will it stop a buggy good?

Do yourself a favour and get the Ace DS1313 13kg or the DS1015 15kg.
the DS1313 is perfect for buggy steering and throttle.
After my KO Fet steering servo melted I fitted a Ace DS1015 as they where the only servos available at the track at the time.
Really blown away by its performance ,lately most of teh top drivers have all changed to Ace DS1015 steering and DS1313 throttle.
Not badly priced too ,seeing they out performing the Airtronics and Hitech big boys.
A big plus for me has also been that the are water proof too.

well, the best servo ive ever seen, used, or heard about is the airtronics 94358Z. Its got nearly perfect specs for 1/th buggies. 200 oz-in and .1sec. Its a tad bit expensive though

The exact same servo I was going to buy, but my LHS didn't have one. I decided to try the tad slower digital one I listed further up. I've never had a very good servo until then. I figured maybe .1 second would be much to fast.

Futaba 9451 for throttle/brake and a 9351 for steering...

Well I've got the airtronics 94359Z (the same as the airtronics 94358Z but all metal geared) and its worth the money every day of the week. I really didn't want to spend that money on a servo but I'm sooo glad I did. I know its not Futaba though

I'd recommend hitec digitals personally, specifically the 5955TG for steering if you are going to spend anywhere near the $100 mark. Also, reguardless of what the specs say the hitec is faster and more powerful (333oz @ 6v) than the AT 94358 or 94359 servo's, hitec's specs are rated way conservative.

i've been running futaba 9451 steering and t/b for ages now, haven,t failed me yet. I'ld say they might be a touch weak for steering at sometimes (blue groove tracklots of grip, blue groove track, fast corners) but that could also be my servo saver, and its only been been on a few occasions where i've even wondered about it.

I've been meaning to try the airtronics for about two years now but my futabas are not showing any signs of failing.

also a servo being too fast? Its only too fast if you pull the trigger or turn the steering too fast.

May or may not be worth paying for a super fast super strong servo though.
