Novarossi 528XR is the most badass engine you can put in any nitro-powered car. Buggy, Truggy, Monster truck, 1/10 ST(god-aweful to try to control), anything.

He said baddest engine. For pure, insane out-of-control power, the Novarossi 528XR wins, hands down. God knows what it would be like if it were modded.
It's got tons of power. You just have to learn to tame it

The new draked platinum .28 is the 2nd engine ever to break the 2HP (2.00HP exactly and 76.89 oz. in. of torque) mark on the X-dyno by XRC magazine, that dyno is in this months XRC, the only other to break that with 2.02HP and 80.64 oz in. of torque was the hott mod rossi XR. (hott mod dyno was in Oct 05' issue# 119)
I'd like to see what #'s the RB 928 could put down on the X-dyno as I think thats one of the only engines that has comparable top and bottom end to the XR (aside from the new draked obviously).

She's not all the way broken in yet, but as soon as the weather breaks I'll double check that for you, LOL.
Sorry, I've been in the house too long looking at my new car sit there rotting away due to the cold weather.

The most insane motor is definately the HOTT Modded Novarossi 528XR. Almost TOO powerful if you can believe it. I had one in my Hellfire which is a heavy Truggy, and it was the fastest Trug in the straight away but took some getting used to on the rest of the track...too bad they dont have a drag racing truggy class!
I have two brand new ones sitting here...cant wait to see what this thing can do in the 8ight-T once it comes in. This motor would be INSANE in a buggy.
CLAUDACIO: Cool looking 8ight, I just ordered some Upgrade graphics for mine, looks like they fit well.

I am running 30% and getting temps of 220-240...and staying very consistant, and holding its tune well. In order to run the 30% properly I added a head shim to the motor. Im not sure the exact size if head shim I used....it was one thin copper colored Novarossi head shim.
I believe Claudacio helped me out with some questions I had about the shimming of this motor for 30% a while back, he may know more. Claudacio....?
One thing is for sure though, this motor is a monster! If you put it into a buggy I am curious to see what happens!

I dont "tune" to temp, just use it as a reference. I tune to:
-Smoke / Sound / Power & Feel...then put a temp gun on it after running it around for a bit to make sure its within a safe range.

These are the shims you need to add to the rossi XR for 30% (ontop of the one thats in there already), all you need to add is 1 of these: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/3084
They are shimmed for up to 25% and for about the first 6 months I thought it wouldnt be that big of a deal running 30% and a cold or medium plug like I normally would with any .26+ and 30%. But I ended up adding the head shim eventually, and it was a night and day difference as far as consistency tuning it. Some people say to add the head shim even if you are only running 20%, which I think is a decent idea, but I would suggest trying some different plugs to see what works best. Head clearance for a turbo plug engine should be at .024" (if I am remembering right), and thats exactly what the aluminum and copper shim end up giving you.
I love the XR, but the next .28+ for me is going to be the RB 928 when I get around to building another MT.

I'd say something more like an RB Modded RB C6 and the new RB pipe
