Ask any one the difference between a Pro kit and a RTR all so ask about what all you should do to a RTR before running. A pro kit is just much stronger and comes with much better parts. Is this your first nitro?

i have both the rtr and the pro i can second 46u that the pro is better built and is made up of higher quality parts but i do like the rtr only broke one steering knuckle due to interference resulting in wide open throttle and hitting a wall lol. i have had my rtr since november and my pro since jan-feb.

I am sure whichever one you get you will have fun. I tell you I beat the heck out of my Hyper 8 Pro this past weekend and I am amazed it held together. From top of the bridge to the bottom where you land is about 6 feet or more, as you never touch the ramp. Then the double on the backstretch is a blast as well!!!!!!!

Even if you get the hyper 7 you won't be dissapointed. They are both good buggies.
The Hyper 8 beats the hyper 7 slightly on geometry and adjustment but you can still go out and win club races with a hyper 7.
As for upgrades,(assuming you get the RTR of either) CNC Chassis braces, new steering servo, receiver pack and turnbuckles all round. that should get you started. then go for CVD's and add anything from the pro kits (of each version) when you get the money/ break something.

hi everyone, thought i'd add a tip. the rear hubs of the hyper 8 are pretty crappy, the dowel pins start to loosen up the hubs after some time and you'd notice the rear wheels starting to wobble toe-in toe-out style. to overcome this is to drill and thread in some grub screws to secure the pin in place or do as i did and brought the titanium hubs with the stretched arms. plus watch out with the design of the air filter, serious damage can be done to your engine if not properly secured
