Default Engine HSN Questions

I took my car out today to try and tune it today, and I tried doing the method of leaning out the hi speed needle and doing a pass, leaning it out again doing another pass....

Im still getting nice white smoke... but there is a lot of fuel being dumped out of the carb.... Is that normal?..... does that mean I could probably lean it out more,.....

Its hard for me to listen to the different pitches at the hi speed passes....

Let me ask this... How will I know when it is too lean.....

I am asuming im still rich because the engine never once died... didnt get real hot... was comfortable enough to touch with hands....

does the engine produce power,it does sound like it is still rich just lean it in if it get to lean it should start lean bogging and make sure the engine gets up to temp.and if you dont got a temp gun you can spit on top of the head and count to 10 if the spit just stays on to rich if it burns right off to lean.

you will know when its too lean because the pitch will get really high (you will be able to hear) you will loose most of the smoke, it will do this high pitched "gargaling" (spelling?) type noise, and it will want to cut out (then engine will stop) when you pull the throttle the whole wayy in.
