I am looking to get into racing and am new to nitro buggy. Can anyone tell me about the Redcat Racing Hurricane XP Pro. It looks to be a good starter, but I wanted to ask you all before I jumped in. I don't want to spend a mint, but want to compete. There is a good review of the Hurricane XP here on RCU and the pro should be better with all the aluminum ad ons. I'm looking for a little pro and con action here.

get the xp, it has less weight and the plastic is alot cheaper.
also kyosho, ofna and others dont use the alu arms for a reason. but it does look cool.

IMHO waist of money!
Plastic suspension is junk, too weak! Front kingpin design is junk too sloppy and handling not accurate! Electronics is total junk, sooner or later you need to change it anyway
I have broken my front lower arms every time then i am on track. Changet 3 sets of A arms on front before i changet whole front to Kyosho mp777. Rear i am used Alu arms and hubs and kyosho upper arms. Thick ALU shocktowers must be! Now its OK and sometimes i am bash with it but if i think how much money i invested on spare parts that not last long imho it waist of money. Buy some descent buggy like Xray XB8R and you not go wrong with that! I changed some parts on Xray becouse it weared not broken just wear (like hinge pins holes, pillow balls and etc)

When i got my Himoto/Redcat/Bazooka i tought same wow its durable. But when i started to drive with it on track and my driving skills raised i understood that its not durable at all! Yeah some links in this buggy is pretty good, but mostly suspension is junk. In competition you everytime think and afraid what now i will brake... just raceing it. Ofcourse not all your landings is perfect but it not forgive you your mistakes.
With XRay i dont even think that, it survived even realy hard crashes.
But for driving with it on street or on backyard is ok, but on track where you go to your and buggy limit you will se differentse
