This is my first Axial motor...I seen this mill in RC action and thought I`d give it a try..! This is a new version of the old .28..it seem`s to have some good up-grade`s as well as more power and rpm...38500 claimed..?

What is the difference between the two, the number of ports, port timing or what? The older Axial 28 was not real strong.

They're like $170 at Tower, and I had the discount code for 30 bucks off any order over $149... Was really cheap though and paid for slow shipping, so mine won't be here for like 3 weeks.. Final price worked out to cheaper than the local best price in Germany of €140 shipped...

In the meantime, I'm looking forward to hearing about how yours works out.... ;-)

When he does he will be correct as a good 21 will kill the OS VG 30 on top end day in and day out. [X(]Mater of fact the Axial 28 will blow the OS VG 30 away on the top side! [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

this is so tru........my ninja 21 would leave BOTH axial and 30VG in the dust (i own all three) but between the axial and 30VG the axial would pull away like nothing............but that axial 28 couldnt even come close to my picco 38 P3 OR novarrossi 528 those 2 engine would blow them out of the water............this is why i sold the axial 28 i had..... so far its the only engine ive had that didnt impress me much..........plus the carbutator was a POS........i actually wanna try out one of those STS 28's OR 30'S to see how it holds up against my high end 28's

for 149 bucks i dont think its worth it.......since u can get a picco 28 P3 for about 180-200 bucks

I have my own modded Picco 28 and my own modded STS 30... The Picco is awesome and very fast, but the STS makes more HP and RPM.. The STS 30 hs insane top end when its tuned.

But i have to say the STS only has a harder wind out, the Picco is a nicer motor... The Picco has insane throttle snap and low end power, it never loads up, and the throttle response is ultra crisp.... The STS feels more numb then the Picco and not nearly as responsive.. The big STS makes great power, but the throttle needs to be opened wide and then the motor ramps into an amazing pull. But its not crisp like the Picco.... Now compared to an Axial or XTM the STS is ultra crisp and and responsive, but not in the same league as the Picco.. The STS will win a wide open top end run, but the Picco kills it in the stop and go....Now as well due to the Picco's explosive bottom end punch, you dont notice the top end as much as the revvier feeling 30, So the Picco may be revving harder then I realise...

Ima need a new engine in about........3 or 4 weeks for a project (top end speed) the picco has pushed one of my buggys past 75MPH but i always want more........so im test out that STS im thinking the STS 30 REV2 good choice???

either way a friend of my has it in a buggy and he is about to set it up to try to hit 80MPH..........if i can see he can do it u better belive i will buy on of these things.......i already have the STEP BY STEP forum on how to seal it when i get it........

how is the quality of the carburator??? does it fall apart like the old axial 28??? or is it good??? should i look into geting something like a novarossi carb???(i could get one at a fair price used)

I thought we'd sorted this out. I tried to help you out, you didn't wanna hear it, I never crapped on yours or any other engine, I never said MY engine would be better either, in fact, you [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5904727/mpage_2/tm.htm]TRIED your damndest to crap on mine[/link]. Once again you're trolling. Oh, and erm, what engine did I recommend to you? And, erm, what engine have you just ordered?

Quit trolling or you'll be probably be put on probation by a mod. If I chose to, I could humiliate you, but fortunately I value my status here as a well respected, experienced hobbyist.

Last chance if you want a friendly relationship with me...if you don't, I couldn't give a toss, but I'm cool if you are.
