Hi my lightning is equipped with a roto start ([:'(])and is very difficult to start (it has the .26 engine) , the lhs gave me the roto start setup when to pull start broke and told us the shaft will work in a normal cordless screw gun that didn't work and we found that a air gun (tire changing type) does spin it fast enough but after starting it it will not start again for a few hours and the AA igniter needs new batts every time for it to start. Also i would like to change the front/rear torque dist. how can I do that and finally, does anyone know witch screw on the carb does what ? thanks.

A cordless drill will not spin it fast enough, you will need the rotostart starter.Your engine should come with instructions, will tell you
anything you need to know, you did not say how long the engine runs before it dies that would tell me a lot, what kind fuel, plug etc.
Is the car new? or how much fuel has been ran through it.Use diff fluid if they are sealed(most are sealed)to check, take diff
apart and check for seals, most are orange. If so clean out all grease in there and fill them to the crosspins with diff fluid,I
like to start with 3000 in front,7000 center and 3000 for the rear diff. If you do not have the instr for the engine go to
hot bodies web site they should have it there.

It would stall from driver error (flip it over
) do you happen to know how fast a roto starter spins (the air gun spins at 10,000 rpm)?
It ran great until the rear diff. went and it went front wheel drive. It was repaired by a dealer but the adjusting bolt in the transfer case on the out side of it is missing. it runs on white lightning brand fuel with an plug that is a little bit taller than a OS-a3(don't know specifics) H.B. doesnt have instructions online.

The screw were the fuel line connects to the carb is the high rpm needle,The low rpm needle is on the carb slide were the servo
connects to the carb.Your engine should start after about a 10 min cool down not a few hrs.The air gun will start the engine.
Glow plugs can also give problems,if the engine is tuned right it should last about 1 gallon of fuel, but I have plugs that
fouled or burned up in 1 tank.Just because it glows does not mean its good, could be fouled.Always have new plugs handy.
Your glow igniter may have a short in it try another one.If you are using 20% a med heat plug is fine.Never use fuel
with color die in it.The fuel should look like water.I use Odonell, whitlighting and byron.
