Default CLEANING ISSUES

Hey there!

Im really new at this hobby. Despite of getting my first (and only 1/8th buggy) 3 years ago, I only used it twice cuz then i began the university and I stopped racing. Its been 3 years since last time i ran it. Now, this summer im determined to run it again.

Of course, I found my car extremely dirty...so..

*** Is there anything special I can do to clean it? Maybe taking out servos and using water?

*** Should i do the engine break-in again? I think i should

Thanks a lot.

Tony

Simple Green + Water + compressed air + WD-40 + more compressed air = car is done.

Flush out engine with fresh fuel, start it and tune it. You can't break in an engine twice.

i dont recommend using water, its really a waste, it doesnt clean well. Buy nitro cleaner, it comes in like a compressed canister and it takes all oil residue off the car, and use a toothbrush to screb it down. Compressed air also helps as u can take out the parts, and get rid of all the dirt.

You don't clean with water you simply rinse with water after using Simple Green or 409 and a tooth brush! I do the same thing! Very little water needed! Then blow it dry with air and thoroughly spray it with WD-40.

denatured alchohol works well. i use simple green, wd40, and a brush, metal bristled and a regular toothbrush to clean my car, and a few other things i can't think of right now. just make sure you check and see how the bearings are and if they need to be cleaned out aswell.

i sadly disassemble everything and check it over and clean it off with simple green and a tooth brush. good idea every once in a while but i do it after every race.
