Default high torque servo upgrade

hey guys

i have the stock Perfex radio and servos on my inferno RTR buggy.
i want to upgrade the steering servo, and my LHS doesn't have any options to choose from. The best one they offer is the HITEC 645 MG HIGH TORQUE SERVO.

the specs are:

Three metal gears.
Dual ball bearings.
Metal 1st Gear
Speed: 0.24 sec/60 degrees at 4.8V
Torque: 106.93 oz/in at 4.8V (7.7kg/cm)
Length: 1.59" (40.6mm)
Width: 0.77" (19.8mm)
Height: 1.48" (37.8mm)
Weight: 2.11oz (60g)

What do u guys think? keep in mind it realy is pretty much the only high torque servo my LHS carries. Should i go for it?

thanks guys.

The 645 is SLOW and not the best for torque. I recommend at least 170oz of torque with at least a speed of 13 or faster. If you ever run a decent servo you will never go back. I recommend at least this, which has 172oz torque .13 speed on 6 volts and is coreless. In the listing some of the specifications are missing but you can go to Hitec web site to check them out.

If your local hobby shop can get the Hitec 645 they should be able to get the 985 Hitec. As far as an improvement over your stock servo I have no idea what the specifications on it is do you? More then likely will be better but not best. If all you do is bash it will be OK? Sorry I have gotten use to good servos and will never go back to inferior ones. So it is all up to you.
You are welcome.

U should try AMainHobbies. They might ship to your location. And I would also recommend the 985 or the 965.

Yeah i've got one of the 94359's with the all metal gears and its a great servo.
The single best upgrade for your buggy period.
Also look at the ACE 1015 servos as they're pretty good too.

supermod...i guess americans don't know how to ship servos internationally these days...

I know many on line shops ship internationally now is it the on line store or a problem with the country they are shipping them to? You have to understand many countries will not allow or make it just to difficult to ship to. I know as I sell a little on ebay and do to all the hassles I do not sell out of the lower 48 states any more.

A lot of companies are being overly cautious about shipping to that region. R/C equipment, the same equipment we use for fun, is being used to build IED's (Improvised explosive devices). It's one of those cases where the masses are paying a price for the actions of a few demented idiots.

yeah apparently the problem is with shipping radio equipment...but not a big problem for me since a lot of my friends travel for work to Europe all the time, i'll just ask one of them to get me the 985.

Again thanks a lot guys, i appreciate all the help u gave me picking out a servo....catch y'all later when i face another dilemma

You may wanna check out Stormer Hobbies. They seem to specialize in international shipping. And their prices are usually reasonable.

I'm going to get one for the new buggy.
I have the Sanwa / airtronics 94359z in my other buggy, but want to see if the ACE servos are as good as people say.

Everyone should back off on this issue. None of us have any say in the matter. We're just the pawns in the big-business chess match. It has everything to do with big money and nothing to do with regular people or democracy or any of those higher ideals that are being passed on to us. That's just propaganda. Our politicians are bought and paid for. They don't care about freedom or justice or even religion. They care about money.

Keep in mind the higher torque servos the faster your receiver batteries run down. [X(]
