RE: NEW HYPER 8 RTR
The servos suck, buy a new steering one as soon as possible along with a receiver pack.
All hyper 8 pro parts will fit and some hyper 7 (Knuckles, diffs etc)
Jammin parts won't fit as a whole as they're two completeley different manufacturers.
Get pro CNC'd knuckles and chassis braces, upgrade the rest as it breaks /wears out. You might want to get a better radio.
The buggy itself is not bad the engine and radio are the weak points.
Use the engine till it breaks (unless you want to race seriously, in which case you need a .21), then get a decent .21

RE: NEW HYPER 8 RTR
Most RTR the radio system is bear minimum.
What compatible?
Jammin is made by Hong Nor and Hyper by Hobao. I do have the Jammin Big bores on my Hyper 8 Pro.
I recommend the new 8.5 pro kit.

RE: NEW HYPER 8 RTR
The pro kit still has many up grades the RTR does not have and the 8.5 has more then the pro 8 kit does. So if you have a good radio and servos all you would need is an engine for a pro kit. You would end up with a MUCH better buggy and in the end much less.

RE: NEW HYPER 8 RTR
The chassis, towers, knuckles, braces, radio box, turnbuckles, pipe and driveshafts are all different and most probably quite a bit more.
Thats before you mention the radio, electronics and engine

RE: NEW HYPER 8 RTR
Stuff like the towers, I'd only upgrade after they break. Some pro racers switch to the RTR shock towers as they bend in a heavy crash, the pro versions are more prone to snappin off.

RE: NEW HYPER 8 RTR
All so the chassis on the RTR is stamp where the Pro is machined much stronger and there is a WHOLE lot more! You want to see what all go to Ofan or Hobao’s web site! If you take a RTR replace the radio you said you have and servos, then up grade the engine and all the pro parts you will have MORE in it the starting with a GOOD pro kit. Pro kit $400 engine $200 to $300. So you will only have $600 to $700 in s good pro kit. RTR what around $500 now all the parts to up date it to a pro with a good engine what many be $1000 or more so, which is cheaper? Get the RTR and first thing you better get the CNC knuckles which are about $70 so you would all ready be up around $570 on the RTR. Get what ever you want, as the figures do not lie. I am out of here and good luck.

RE: NEW HYPER 8 RTR
Do to racing I have and take just about enough parts to build another Hyper 8 but in well over 9 gallons have broken very little. Just gives me piece of mind if I am at a points race to know I have the parts. I buy most of my spares off ebay cheap. I will be up dating my 8 to a 8.5 with parts off ebay.

RE: NEW HYPER 8 RTR
ya i was thinking of buying some ebay parts.
46u what shock oil should i use front and rear. my home tracks is smooth in the straights and bumpy in/out of corners so i get alot of ass hop when accel & braking. currently i have 50w F&R.
i was told that 50-70w front 30-40w rear

RE: NEW HYPER 8 RTR
I have tried everything from 60 to 25 and lots depend on the track. I am running the Jammin big bores and for the most part run about 45 front and 40 rear. Have you been to the Ofna forums lots of good folks and information?
