servo fit

Most, if not all, 1/8 buggies use a standard size servo. The size is really of no concern for that reason. You need to make sure you get a servo with metal gears and something with enough torque to turn the wheels. Something with at least 120oz and that's pushing it. Something in the 200oz range would be better. If you gotta go cheap, I have heard good things at the track about the Hitec HS-5625-MG. It's got 120oz and it's kinda quick.

It is not just the torque - the speed is even more important.
Something like 200 oz/13kg and 0.10 sec. is what you need.
From personal experience I would recommend that you avoid Hitec and look at Sanwa/Airtronics, Futaba or KoPropo.

The hitec 5955 w.330 oz of trq and .15 speed is bullit proof. It is great servo. The new hitec servos are WAY better then the oder stuff
. I use it in my buggy and it improved the steerng alot. You can tighten the servo saver to the max which make the cqr more responsive.....it works well

Keep in mind the higher the torque the quicker it drains your receiver pack.

one would think that with more torque the servo would strain less and use less power

My race partner runs a 333oz and I run a 172oz torque servo. We both run identical receiver packs and he has to charge his long before I have to charge mine. Try it your self and let me know what the out come is.
