Default mugen mbx5 prospec gearing options?????

i want to know whats the best type of gearing setup for optimal low end power? right now i have a rb 3 port motor(has great bottem end for only $160 bucks!) my whole drive train is stock. i see they have different teeth optoins for your clutch bell, bevel gears, conical gear and spur gear. too many options....i have no idea what to run with....help!

Posible options:

clutch:
13, 14, 15 or 16 teeth

spur gear:
44 teeth (C0274)
46 teeth (C0259) stock
48 teeth (E0218)

bevel gear:
12 teeth (C0211) stock
11 teeth (C0273)

conical gear:
38 teeth (C0272)
40 teeth (C0258) stock

now you have the option to adjust gear ratio:
spur gear / clutch = gear ratio
lower numbers = more top speed
higher numbers = more acceleration

44/16 = 2.75
46/16 = 2.875
44/15 = 2.9333
48/16 = 3
46/15 = 3.06666
44/14 = 3.1428
48/15 = 3.2
46/14 = 3.286
44/13 = 3.384
48/14 = 3.42
46/13 = 3.538
48/13 = 3.69

same with front/rear diff gearing:
38/12 = 3.166666
40/12 = 3.333333 (stock)
38/11 = 3.454545
40/11 = 3.636363
it can be used to adjust under/oversteering.
smaller number in front = more understeering
smaler number in rear = more oversteering
and vice versa...

thanks man. that is really helpful! so from what your saying basically the best option for low end power would be a 48t spur and a 13t bell....correct?

Yes, it will probably be overkill and make the car twitchy on even the highest grip surfaces.
try the standard spur gear with the 13t Cbell before you try all the other extremes.

But there is also 11, 12 and 17 tooth bells available too.
