Default Wheel question

I shattered a set of OFNA dish rims at my track the other day, and was wondering what some of you guys run. Is a hard rim better than a rim that is softer and flexes? My track has a lot of jumps in it so i was wondering if a softer rim will flex instead of breaking when I land flat, after i overshoot a landing (still learning).
