What is this "laydown" and "stand-up" servos that you just said? Is there any difference? I don't know. Please, post some pictures or something to understand better

Has anyone had problems with engine vibrations killing servos? The close coupling of laydown mounts look like they'd transmit vibration really well.

To absorb the vibration we usually use some plastic material that we can buy from hobby shops and usually is in the package with the servo you're buying. It does very good job, but on the other hand, why are you having vibration problems that they are capable of killing servos? The only killed servo i had, it was in my plane when that crashed (fortunately, i assembly it again as well as was, but the aileron servo killed, so i change it). Is your engine suffer from horrible vibrations??? [

I'm not having any problems or horrible vibrations, largely due to the fact that don't have an engine in the car yet. Usually electronics in nitro powered RC models are protected with some degree of vibration isolation. I didn't notice any protective measures in place for the laydown servo in the picture that digifox linked for us. I guess it's mainly just a curiosity thing.
