cbr04 i did not do the idle break in method mine would not idle to begin with. My LHS told me to just break it in @ low rpm increasing little by little on each tank up to about 5 tanks. After the second tank the car idle was fine. Hope he did not give me the wrong info for the break in.

Has anyone ever used that break in method? What were the results?

I let mine idle for a half a tank and then i had to drive just seems wrong letting it sit there and idle...i'm breaking mine in the sameway i got 4 tanks threw it now and i'm at about 3/4 throttle each tank i push it a little harder. the bog is going away, the exaust is getting crisper and theres more blue smoke coming out of it..gonna start leaning it out, but i lost my warehouse that i run it in so now i'm gonna have to wait till spring..[]

just got a call from the techs... they put a hotter glow plug in it. said the stock one wasn't hot enough??
hotter plug is the way to go if your breaking in a new engine, also hair dryer defo helps alot as it ease off the pressure and load of pullstart, i ve been told that os no.8 is the best glow plug for force .28

once you get it started, give it small blips of throttle to get the temp up quicker then it should idle on its own(make sure your buggy is off the ground when you do this)

the buggy starts with ease now! the feeling of having it start on the 2nd or 3rd pull is GREAT lol i ran a couple of tanks of gas through it this evening. can't wait till it's completely broken in [8D]

wish i would've gone with the hotter plug sooner... i wouldn't have all these blisters on my hands now lol....

looks good thor04, remind me what is the body shell, is it proline, how is the axial engine and jp-2 pipe going, i have thought of the axial as the .28 does rev high, i will be getting the jp-3 pipe soon.

Hi everyone, I am brand new to the world of RC but can't get enough of it. I pickup a LX1 for X'mas, and have about broke it in (4 tanks). I love it. It runs great and once I got it started the first few times it starts right up. I'm ready to start to do some upgrades. What should I upgrade first? Thanks

I love mine as it was my first buggy. Although I have been in nitro for about 5 years now. I lost track anyway don't upgrade unless you break something. Thats what I go buy. If you break it upgrade it. Catch my drift?

If ya really need to spend your money I would get the back brace like on page 4 of this thread.. i made my own...and if your up to the task of tearing apart your diffs get rid of the grease thats in there and put oil in there.. one of my diffs had next to nothing in them compared to the others glad i ripped it apart when i did..

hey xavierzx11, welcome to the forum

as for the upgrade, thor04 is right as the rear brace needs to be upgraded, next is the steering servo as the standard ones will not be up for the job when you bash, get hardened diff crown ring on both front and rear, 6v hump pack battery with charging lead, fill all diffs with oil, maybe upgrade the radio

So i took my Lx1 out today all broken in and ready to rip... boy did i tear that thing up!! On my final run for the day i got so carried away that i did not realise i was low on fuel. The engine started to bogg down when i go full throttle but i kept on running doing donuts and figure 8's really tearing it up!! Finally i decided to shut the buggy down but before i did i check the temp. 364 degrees!! When i got home and started cleaning the car up my pull start cord was burnt off and missing seems like it was resting on the exhaust there was burnt rubber on the exhaust. The body of the car was also burnt from the exaust side pipe there is a bigger hole there now!! LoL My question is and this might be a really stupid one!! Do you guys think my engine is toasted?

When i change the pull start if this car runs again i would really have to give this car 2 thumbs up!!

By the way i was running my engine very rich.
