Is it possible...

I am sick and tired of those E-Clips on all of the suspension hingpins, and basically everywhere on my MBX Comp. So I am wanting to know, is it possible to convert it to capured hingpins? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

There is a way but it means drilling and grinding and 6 grub screws.
In the Thicker hinge pin holders (on the front gearbox it's the rear ones and on the rear it's the front ones) you need to drill a 1.5mm hole into the pin holder at 90' to the pin hole. Tap it with a 2mm thread then where the pin would meet the hole, just gring down a small flat spot for the grub screw thats going into the hole to lacate into the pin and lock it.
I would the the e clips on at the other end of the pin so that you can pull out the pin easier for maintenance and to prevent the pin being pulled through should you have a nasty bump.

e clpis are the easiest way to lock your body. I have ideas to make it more easier but is not reliable. Maybe is the hardest way TO TAKE THEM OUT (because clip them is the easiest way) but i like it. What else you want? If someone has an idea, it will be on the market right now, so FORGET IT!!!

I have absoloutly no idea of what he is on about. E-clips to hold a body on? Osirisf16 you've been on this forum for a little while now and every time you have opened your mouth it's taken me a week to decifer what you said, but now you've outshone yourself with complete aplomb. Not only do you not make sense, but you don't even haveany idea what you are talking about. I really do suggest and for the sake of all others on this forum, that you just keep your fingers away from the keyboard and leave the replies to those who have some idea of what the questioneer is asking.

I'm leaving the post above (after some very minor editing) simply because it's totally correct, Osiris, it's time to stop spamming all the forums.
As for the clips; Osiris, e-clips are not the same as body clips. E-clips hold the suspension pins in on many cars (auta pou kratane ta lower arms sta bulkheads, legontai 'swing pins' h 'hinge pins'). Body clips are the ones that hold the body on. The original poster was asking about a solution to replace these annoying e-clips with a way in which the suspension pins are 'captured' (pagideumena), anti gia na kratiountai me e-clips.

Just PM me and i will correct the mistake i made. SORRY. I know, please Foxy, delete those posts (so we can't confuse anybody). I don't want to say such stupid things. Really sorry

Sorry Osiris, I can't just delete people's posts cos you ask, but don't worry, you haven't made a fool of yourself or anything, we all understand that English is not your first language. All we are asking is that you are sure about what you're posting before you hit submit. It's cool man, don't worry about anything.
Jerz, thanks for the props.

Higher end buggies have captured hingepins and the lower end models usually don't. It is nice to have but usually brings about higher cost.
Granted the e-clips are a pain but the cost of retrofitting something will not be worth it at all. At least 1/8 scale e-clips are reasonable size. 1/18 scale e-clips, now THAT is a pain.

I converted all of my eclipped pins to captured with grub screws and it works great. It does make caster adjustments a little trickier on the front, but its worth it.
