If you live near a Walmart, you can get a decent heat gun for around $20. Check the interior painting supplies section. They carry a souped up hair-dryer for removing paint and wallpaper.
I have one, and it works perfectly for heating up engines. It'll get them to 200* F in a few minutes time.

A hair dryer will not get the engine up to the temperatures you really need for a GOOD break in like a heat guy will. Just like rabidsquirrel said you can pick up a heat gun fairly cheap.
