RE: what buggy kit is best
The X1CR has been replaced by the X1 X
the hyper 8.5 has been available for some time now...
the MP7.5 has been discontinued replaced by the MP 777
the Hyper 8 has been replaced by the Hyper 8.5
The mugen Mxb5 doesn't exist... neither does the aCCociated RC8 you must mean the Mugen mbx5 and associated Rc8...
The Z01 will not be available before next year, i don't really see how anyone can honestly tell you if it's the best...
dbuggyracer was just giving some honest advice no need to bring all kinds of sarcasm into the thread, be polite and more answers will come your way.

MP777 is a great benefit, also the mbx5 of Mugen seiki. They are the TOP buggies in the world and well known. If you go for the MP777, buy the WC version.

RE: what buggy kit was or is best
i have owned a hyper 8 pro and i got to say it is a really tough car and for the price its unreal i used it for some time then i deided i would try a Mugen mbx5 prospec which i ewhat i currently use only thing i have ever broke is a bent shok tower and bent front CVD from a bad landing. i have to admit this car is easy to handle round the track and easy to control in the air. if i was to buy a car now i have heard rumours of a mbx6 being realised which i would like to wait and find out about it. and i have seen the RC8 in action and they seem excellent but seeing as it is team associated's first real 1/8th buggy im not to sure but it does seem to be doing excellent in competitions.

RE: what buggy kit was or is best
There is no best as there are a LOT of good buggy kits out there. My vote was the Hyper 8.5 as I have a Hyper 8 and an 8.5, which I have not run yet but I do know the 8, can take a licking and keeps on ticking!!!!!! I think the Hyper buggies are some of the best bang for the buck you can get.

At this stage of your RC career, you do not need the 'best', even if such a thing existed, which it doesn't. You like durability and quality parts, go for mugen or Xray. You want a top racer for a good price, go for a Hyper 8.5. You want what's new, go for an 8ight or an RC8. They're all good, just depends what you want. I'm an Xray man, myself.
However, as you no doubt found out (evidenced by your choice of the Sho as your first buggy), these kits above need $1000 to get the best out of them. Sho's not a bad starter car; as has been said in the other thread, it's a lower quality version of the old Mugen MBX5.
