i have a Novarossi P5XS in my losi 8ight and just recently, at the last race, when i went to bump it, it started backwards. the starter box wheel is turning the right direction and all, but it just wanted to run backwards. of course i didn't try to drive it like this, so i shut it down and retried. same results. it took it a couple tries to run the correct way. why is this?
thanks

MZ,
Typically, a two stroke engine can and will run backwards. This is usually caused by an over rich condition. The engine may start running backwards but ususlly not at a vary fast rpm. Often, they will reverse, and run forward without any action on your part, mostly they will just stop. The crankshaft timinig is designed to run efficiently in only one direction. Once the over rich condition clears the engine will start and run in the forward direction.
Hope this helps.

ok, thats good to hear. since theres a lot of down time, it sounds like the fuel was slowly flooding the engine between races.
thanks!
thanks!

yeah, that could definitely be it too. my starter box is kinda a POS.
so far i have got to say i LOVE the p5xs. it hasn't quit once on me in a main or qualifier. im not the best tuner either.
