I have a silly question due to one of my friends. You see (the story is about a hyper 8 and a MacStar .28 engine on it with pullstart) i get the hyper (not mine) of one of my friends and forgot about the pullstart and i fired it up with a starter box. The engine started easily without problems. Then, the engine turned off because of bad settings (not mine, i just take it to start it). My other friend took the hyper and try to start via pullstart. The pullstart string reep off (i mean, it stuck when it was the entire rope completely out). He shouted to me. I try to convince him that the effort i gave to start with starter box has no matter doing with the pullstart (one-way bearing). Then, we discover that the scres of the pullstart were missing(not all of them, but the pullstart was out of his place). I said "There, you see. Dirt must enter the pullstarter and stuck it. The pullstart now is fixed.
From all that story, the main question is: does pullstart has something to do when i try to start it with starter box? I don't think so, but i want to be sure.
Thanks

no. if im right using a starter box with a pullcord engine should make no difference...its logical really, all the box does is turn the engine over as if it were running, so if the engine doesnt wreck the cord when it runs, it wont wreck it when its started on a box.

^^^^^ exactly what he said
the starter box still spins the motor the same way as the pull start to fire it.... so would not damage the one way beering...

Good. Wait to tell to my friend. Of course, if the starter box turn on the other way, the rope will reep, right?
Yes, if your starter box is really strong, thing that i don't think can be achieved. You must be stupid to do that
Nothing personal, guys. Does anyone of you do that?

guy at my track had a box that was turning the wrong way this week, he didnt realise and i was talking to him while he was trying to fire her up and had to take the box posts off and hold the car on the wrong way round, wasnt a big problem cause it was a blank backplate engine.
