Default .28 Nitro-Engine for my 1:8 Buggy !?

I can choose between two engines:

KYOSHO GXR28 PULLSTART ENGINE

http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/r...acce_type_id=1

and

LRP ( Associated ) Z.28R SPEC.3 TRUGGY

http://www.lrp-electronic.de/e/lis/0...c3_Truggy.html

I don` know the exact specifications of GXR28 like rpms,hp ...

I am taking the GXR28 out of my buggy. I would avoid it -
They seem to be a bit hit and miss.
The needles are very unforgiving.

Having said that, it has served me well for over a year and it has a very good pull-start.

Most people would agree a 0.28 is overkill for a buggy anyway.

If you don't mind trying something other than those two, I have an Axial .28RR Spec 1S, and really enojy it.
They run about $170 on Tower.
Comes standard as a pull start, but can be converted to a roto start, or bumpstart later if you want.

I would get a .21 engine. A decent one has more than enough power and it drinks less gas.

out o those two i would go for the lpr...
but i do agree it would be overpowered.... i believe that .21 engines are more suitable for buggys.
a great engine is (for a good price) would be [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_23_31/products_id/16978]this[/link] go tech

I have both .28 and .21 in several different buggies. The only thing is a .28 is not race legal in a buggy. So if your just bashing no problem. I have heard good things about the go tech as rc rock said.

I am replacing my GXR28 with a GO21 7 Port - Still running it in but looking like a great motor thus far.

If you are stuck on these 2 I would say the Z.28 The Axial.28RR that Calin talked about would be great also. I have ran many Axial's and all have been great and reliable

What I kind of run times should I be expecting.. I think my buggy runs on a 125cc fuel tank.

I had the .32 in my savvy and during break in a 160cc tank lasted about 3 min after break in and tuning I got about 8-9 under normal bashing NOT back to back WOT runs. The .28 in my LSP a 150cc tank tuned under bashing conditions got about 10-12 min. Rember though under RACE conditions will be a lil less

So I should be a little closer to 7-8 minutes with my smaller tank.. Guess well have to wait and find out.
