Default Hyper .21 8-port

Anyone use them for racing? How good are they? How about how are they compared to the the O.S. .21's?

I personally like them alot better than the OS 21 RG now VG.
I dont think they are as good as the top of the line OS motors though.

I run the OS20E carb on my Hyper 21 though.

What about tune ability? My LHS has got one really cheep right now so I'm just not wanting some money to have it just blow up in a few tanks. thanks supraltive for the info on the carb. Does teh OS carb make it run better or at least y did you change to that carb?

i used one for racing i was able to keep up with most other engines easy and it never give me any problems at all once tuned that was it started easily to.

Although mine only lasted around 4 gallons max due the the crank pin breaking causing the conrod to shoot through the crankcase during a race. Was a bit dissappointed but i still thik it could have been a defect or something. I won it new for £50-£60 of ebay and did do a good few races with it so i was still pleased with how it performed.

I never ran it with the stock carb. I was told its alot more simple to tune and will hold a tune better with that OS carb.
It seemed to hold a great tune for so I was very happy.
I used my regular Hyper .21 8 Port for a whole season no issue.
I just got a Hyper .21 8 Port Race with Boost chamber for this season.
I think its a great bang for the buck engine.

i got a Mach 21 Turbo all i can say is its a great engine keeps up with all the $400-600 engines at my track. very fuel effecient and has heeps top end power it hold it tune well, i prefer over the OS's but hey that my opinion. one more thing never touch the mid range needle keep it as stock.
