I pulled this thing out of my basement this morning (after 2 years of dormancy)and decided to get it running. I checked all of the electronics and such and they work fine, set my hyper .21 8 port to factory settings and replaced the glow plug. after messing with the needles, it idles fine.
However, when i hit the throttle, it lurches a little and goes about 5 mph. it barely picked up speed as i jammed the throttle. The engine reacted fine with higher revs and a nice sound, but the buggy didn't want to follow suit. what are some possible causes of this? i really forget alot about the mechanics of these things. thanks in advance.

Check the set screw in you front and rear diff outdrive cup., if they are loose or missing your engine will rev but your buggy won't go.

Ok, so it wasn't the set screw in the main drive cups, but i can better explain how the system is working because of that. on the ground, if i spin a wheel, they all move a little, but there is alot of slop in the front drive section. its about a 1/4 rotation of the rear wheels before the fronts even think about moving with it, and even then it feels very loose. I'll take the front section apart later to see if i can check those drive cups.
