Default not a FS thread, just an estimate

Well the time has come, I've tried to make it work but the racing thing just isn't working in Alabama like it was in Kansas, unfortunately I had to move and nothing could be done about it. it's just too bad I dumped so much more money in to the Mugen before I found out the racing scene here wasn't any good.

Can I get a rough estimate on how much this is all worth.

It's a Mugen MBX5R completely rebuilt, with ACE DS1015 and DS1313 servos, RB C6BBT L2G with RB 2045 pipe and header, just broken in (per the RB book) never run beyond that. Mugen carbon fiber stone guards, and other optional mugen hop ups (aluminum pillow balls, titanium screw set, and so on). Futaba 3PKS radio with FAAST module, and 2650mah 3S lipo, plus futaba case, tons of mugen replacement parts and setup parts, Ofna truggy starter box with gel cell, Multiplex LN-5014 charger and equinox lipo balancer, 1500mah 2S common sense lipo in the mugen with regulator, AMBrc module. precut and unpainted JConcepts body, 2 other bodies, assortment of Jconcepts wings of various color, full documenation, mugen pit mat, and Hudy setup station with board, I've missed a few things I'm sure but what's it worth?

Oh yeah and a OS V-Spec with 3 gallons that just needs an $11 carb seal and it will run again, plus JP3 pipe for that.

Hey Rev, Sorry to hear you're not going to keep racing man. Is putting them in storage and just waiting it out an option? Or are you going to move to just bashing or flying or something else? Either way man, if you find out what price you want for all that, pm me please. I'm more than interested in your set up man. And I'll pay to ship it overseas.

I hate hate hate hate hate to see the Mugen go, it's my pride and joy. But it is NOT a basher and I'm not gonna use it for one as it would be a waste of a pro level competition buggy, and since I am not gonna be racing anymore it's no use to me.

I would go on ebay and look at completed items of similar items (if there are any) and see what other people sold them for. Might get you in the ballpark.

u could easily ask a 7-800 for that set-up....its 100% RTR right ? its all PRO gear no doubt.....how much run time is on everything ? im almost tempted to say u could fetch at least 1000-1200 as i didnt see the charger and all the lipo's too.......and Dispite the fact the MBX6 is right around the corner....the 5R is a Killer buggy and has held its value for quite some time now....if u find the "Right guy" this will be an easy sale.

I just laughed at the fact you said $800, if you are serious that's all I can get for it, no thanks I'm keeping it, the chassis and motor alone are worth more than that.

i say keep it, you'll lose too much money on it, ONLY because everyone sees the Losi's going for $500 and they see the name

Rev,

That sucks but I know what youu mean. I had a 12-14 mpg Nissan Titan it had to go. that was back when gas was $3 a gal and I was paying $150 a week to ride it. Whats was really messeed up is I bought it new off the showroom floor cash. Gas was a buck 60 that was april 05 I ran her out of here june 07 and got a volvo. Now I'm thinking I need a prius LOL, NOT!, I'm crying out loud. Your set up is sweet and your right that aint for bashing.

i gave an estimate....then i saw the charger and everything else with it....so more like 1200......but in reality...unless u get a guy who wants to spend that much on his first set-up.....dispite the fact thats the best way to do it.....the chances are he will already have 1 of the many things u are offering in this sale....IE charger.... starter box...motor/pipe.....servo's......RX/Tx.....can u see where im commin from at least ? How much run time is on everything ? and what do u mean by "rebuilt" MBX5R ? was it a 5 and u converted it with ALL the 5R parts ? im just tryin to help btw.

I'd say that if you aren't hard up for cash right now that you should pump it full of after run oil and stick it in your closet........or if you need to get rid of it, then parting it out would probably get you the most for it....although it's more of a hassle to sell that way.

Guess you didn't look at the pictures to notice I started off with a MBX5R, but by rebuilt I mean any part that hard wear from last year's racing was replaced, it's literally out of the box new, from chassis to suspension arms, to shock caps.

I'd put it in the closet too man. Things can't go on like this forever. All the forcasts I see about the US economy from this side of the world say that it should start swinging back to normal by the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year. Unfortunately, it's that same problem that's put you into this situation that governs the price other people are willing to pay for "used" kits, even if they are as sweet and well maintained as yours. Again though, if you come up with what you think is a fair price, pm me and I'll see if I can afford it. She would definetly be going to a "loving" home. Good luck brotha.

In this economy, you would be lucky to get half what you paid for it new. If you can get $800 take the money and run.

PS. If the spare engine only needs an $11 repair to be perfect, then fix it yourself first before putting it on the market.

I agree.

If you can get $.50 on the dollar, then you had better take the deal, or put it on the shelf.

Usually about $.35-.40 on the dollar is what you will get selling used items.

People just won't pay the $$$ for used stuff.
