Hi people, i havent run my xtm xt2 in a while because of rooted servo's and frankly i couldnt be bothered getting new ones (hobby shops too far away)
n i was just wondering if it would be better to prepare my buggy to start again eg. clean air filter,
what do you people suggest?
cheers

It depends on the condition it's in mate. Did you leave it sitting with fuel in the tank and hoses? Did you give it some after-run oil last time out? Personally, I'd take it down to the bits, clean, re-grease, put new shock and diff oils in it, check all the bearings, etc and put it back together. I'd even open the engine up and check that everything is good and lubed in there.
Oh, and always clean and re-oil your airfilter after every run mate. Hope the bug bites you again.

cheers man, yeh i put a few drops of transmission oil in after me last run and sucked the petrol out,
i dont clean the air filter every run becasue it doesnt seem to get that dirty,
and also ive had alot of trouble with moisture getting in the servos and ruining them, i havent been running them in wet conditions at all?
cheers

Hmmmm...strange. The only other "moistures" i can think of is fuel, i.e. leaking, diff oils leaking or humidity. Check your fuel lines, tank and diffs for leaks. Can't think of anything else mate.

In that case mate, the only other thing i can think of is maybe on your next trip to the LHS, buy some replacement O-ring seals for the servos. They may be cracking or disintigrating in the heat and low humidity???? Then maybe run a tiny little bead of silicone sealant around the seal??
Otherwise, I don't have a scooby snack.

I, personally...
I've had cars and engines sitting with fuel in them for over two years.
All I did was charge everything up, stick the glow ignitor on there, and crank it up.
If it's FUBAR, it's gonna be FUBAR anyway, so why bother with a pre-run ritual?
For the record...all of mine are fine.
