If I was to buy a new buggy it would not be any of the above. I would get the Hot Body D8 or if the price comes down the Hyper 9.

Default RE: What Buggy?

I picked mp9 for the sheer reason its by far the best race bug anywhere hands down. I see n weak point with them and that the same as the mugen weak point that i see, the shock spacers. but then again they are 2 of the strongest bugs out there(mugen and kyosho). Now i race my 8ight and im farely easy on it but the thing i dont like with a little light throttle that i have is in the straights is consistantly shaky and that makes me uncomfortable at times. some of this is a result of poor design in the steering components(and it all needs maintnance every 2 gallons). but after you get used to the maintnance of the 8ight as is with any buggy you and your pocket book get used to it as well. So if i was not so budget minded and see how consistant the mp9 is from day to day to day to day i would without doubt sniff it out till id find one 4 $700 and you will be good for 2 times as many gallons as you would with an 8ight. The rest are good bugs but i see so many rc8's and 808's sold after 4 gallons and they look like they were through the war. and the only zo1's i see are sponsered drivers and handed to them

MAB I do agree, Kyosho products are very well built, but you do pay for it. I had a Inferno Mp5 and loved it, dam wish I would of kept it but I got out of rcs and then got back into it again and by then it was too late. If I had the cash I would go with the MP9 hands down but for the quality and performance of the RC8 being close as all the buggys above are competition to one another, but I went with the RC 8 as I ready good things about it, the company is very well known and have been around, and the dam price I got the kit with engine and electronics and the 3 model memory TX that was 300$ alone and the OS Vspec which is on the way to AB mods and the bump box for 650$ and only used the car 3 times. Who would not pass that up ya know? And once AB gets done with it, I would like to ask inferno owners how my tail fin looks from the back

Check out the GS CL-1 Plus at Amain hobbies. It's clear down to $305. It should be about a 4 or $500 buggy. The buggy can hang with any buggy on the market in the hands of drivers on the same skill level. It's inexpensive due to lack of publicity in the US. You may have to order parts through Amain if you can't find them at a local hobby shop. It's inexpensive(not cheap,as in junk), it's extremely durabale, ready to race with no upgrades, and I think you'll see it grow in popularity in the US. The guys in the Philippenes are doing very well and running neck and neck with a lot of the brands we hear more of in the US. Bottom line is that it's a world class buggy kit at a RTR price. The buggy has the potential in the right hands and I like having something a little different at the track. Whatever your choice, good luck with it and have fun in this hobby.

I do like a little wrenching myself on a little less quality buggy like an 8ight or rc8. I figure in june i will be in the market for new bug so will surely chose an mp9. they can be had alone for under 7. having elecs and all makes a difference at that point. altogether any bug on the list is easy to have fun with!

And watch the Kyosho get beat by a $350 D8 buggy like in the worlds. LOL Sorry I just had to say that and Kyosho is a good buggy just way over priced. One of the reasons is many parts on a Kyosho are made by others like Hobao.

I think a lot of guys just buy a name. Im sure if the driver of the RC is a good driver, then a $350 buggy could own a $1200 buggy. I think its how the person sets up their buggy. Its just like archery. I shoot a $900 setup and I can outshoot guys who shoot $1500 setups. Its how you shoot. Just like RC if you drive well you can beat a buggy technically superior.

Yeah nobody wins with Xray. Why even put it in the poll??[sm=bananahead.gif]

I personally don't like posts like these because most people just say what they have or seen to be the "best".. Pick your own car for your own reasons.
There are some good reviews out there for each bug listed so you should find plenty of info. I am an Associated fan so I would pick up an RC8..
I'm to cheap though so i'll stay with my Ofna Ultra LX1. lol

i don't think i've seen anybody win with an mp9 cause they are so freakin expensive. i mean 800.00 for a race roller. another 200 for a low priced engine and then its already 1000 bucks. i wonder what they'll drop the price to when they realize no body is buying them. does anybody know how much it costs kyosho to make one mp9? i mean you can't really make a buggy for over 500 right?

I have a Jato 3.3 and a Tmaxx 3.3 with alot of mods on her. Why are you interested? I had it lowered one inch so you have to practically try to make it roll over, I have a integy single wheel wheely bar, integy chrome steel front bumper and same in back only blue. has about 15 tanks through it and had it clocked at 47mph and the jato clocked at 85 but that has a supercharger on it. LOL.

1. Handling the Straight aways
2. Cornering
3. Durability
4. Jumping
5. World Championship Wins
6. What one brings the most fear to the competition

1. Apparently, the new MP9 can accelerate much faster than the MP777. The MP777 wasn't a brick either. MP9
2. Definitely the 8ight.
3. I've heard the Xray has very good parts quality, top notch, and is very durable.
4. 8ight.
5. Kyosho. hands down. The MP9 doesn't have one yet, but I'm sure it will in the coming years.
6. Fear to a competition? I don't think a car itself can just intimidate someone.. maybe the DRIVERS themselves.
