Default Which collet for a OS V-SPEC with a losi clutch??

Just got my new motor and tried to put on the clutch and flywheel lastnight. I dont think it fits. I have a losi clutch and flywheel. What size collet do I need. Is the losi clutch compatable with the OS engine??

The Losi clutch does fit the vspec. What do you mean by it doesn't fit?

I tried to fit the collet and the flywheel last night. It seemed to no get that tight and the flywheel was super close to the crank case. Should I jusdt wench it down or do I need a new sized collet?

If the flywheel rubs on the crankcase after you crank it down, put a .1mm shim behind the collet.

I put a stock hyper 7 clutch and flywheel collet on my vspec and it worked just fine. go buy a brand new collet at your LHS buy a lose collet... but the stand flywheel collet should work,.....just make sure its an 1/8 collet.

Yup. The collet (like some many other things with Losi) is specific to the Losi clutch. It's shorter than a standard collet. You can easily grind down a standard collet to fit though.

But when I put on the Losi collet it just slides right on with no resistance.. Is that normal or is it worn??

Im thinking that when you put the flywheel on the start to tighten the clutch nut that should crush the collet shut and lock the collet on.

Bingo. Mine slide on fairly easy as well. The inside of the flywheel is tapered and will clamp down on the collet.

Ive done well over 40 engine/flywheel/clutch assemblies and some are easier then others to put the collet on the SG or pilot shaft. I mean if you tighten the flywheel nut and there is still some slipping then It could be wear on the shaft but there really should be no wear on the shaft.
