Default For the same money - Robitronic Protos or Thunder Tiger EB4?

Hey Crew.

Great forum you all have going here, I'm learning a bundle by the minute.

Looking at getting my first car. The bug has me by the you know whats.

Locally they have these 2 choices for the money I wish to spend.
I read nothing but GREAT things about the Protos and the store highly recommends them.
Should I stick to my gut feeling and hastily buy the Protos or should I have a better look at the EB4?

Cheers and thanks for the words of advice.

Just wanted to add that I do not need it to be race legal as there is no competition racing around here anyway.

I like the Protos. I had one and it was pretty good. I like the brake adjustments on it, the diff cases are completely sealed and the Axial motor is better. It is a narrow buggy sort of like the Losi 8. Even though the shock towers are plastic they are very strong and durable but there are aluminum ones available. The stock tires are really not any good especially for racing but everyone changes them out anyways.

I can't say about the other, but my EB4 keeps up with most. And a very tough buggy. only bad thing is that the shock towers need to be upgraded right off the bat, other then that its a proven buggy that won the nationals one year, 2004 i think

Thank you both for your comments.

Sounds as though I can't go wrong either way.
I wish all decisions were a win or win.

For some reason I'm really getting fond of a pink car [&:]
I think it is time to spend some money.

Should I follow the manufacturers recommended 'break-in' or is there a best practice here somewhere?

Cheers.
