Default Ofna Truggy Starter Box Question

Hey Ofna Truggy box owners (10244). Do you know if the the starter could be configured for a right engined car? The slot goes all the way across the top, but I have never seen the internals and I don't know if the wheel could be mounted on either the right or left side.

Even if you don't know, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a couple of pictures of the guts of the box for me. So very few out there... I am interested in pictures of the bracket that the motors and wheel mount to. Could the wheel go on the right side of this bracket? Could the whole bracket be flipped around moving the wheel to the right side? Etc.

Thanks much in advance,
Spiro

(edit, clarification)

Without having it right in front of me, you could just flip it around, but you wouldn't have enough room to fit a 12V gel cell in there anymore.

Thanks for the info.

It looks like there might be an alternate set of holes to mount the wheel on the right side, without flipping anything else around. Any idea about that? Attached is the best pic I could find of the motor mounting bracket. You can see the other holes I am talking about there.

Thanks much,
Spiro

Can't tell if there's a matching hole in the other plate, but I don't think it would be hard to drill one. It's just screws holding the wheel on.

Agreed, but I can't tell if there IS any plate in that area on the other side The pics I have seen show the plate on the other side being asymmetric in shape. I just can't tell from what I have seen.

Thanks again,
Spiro

Nope! Not set on it until I know it will work. Definitely interested in other good starter box suggestions that can start a right engined car and take a gel cell battery.

Thanks much,
Spiro

the chrome top takes a gel cell, and can start a right engined car. it is also simpler because it doesn't use belt drive. i have it ste for my 1/8 buggy which is left motor, and i can set it up, without moving the motor, to start a right engined car...

I have the Ofna Truggy Box. I just opened it up and there is a set of holes to move the rubber wheel on the right side of the box. The way its set up internally, all you would have to do is pull the axle out of the rubber wheel and move it over and put the axle back in. If you had a set of stubby screw drivers (or 90 degree bent screw drivers), you could switch the sides without even having to remove the drive unit (it unbolts from the inside of the box. If you want, I can take a picture and clarify later, but I can assure you, it can be done very easily. I really like this box, its got enough power to crank over anything (two size 775 motors and comes with provisions for gel-cell or twin stick packs), I would definitely recommend you buy it.

OffroadBear

Thanks for opening up your box and checking. Don't worry about the pics. As long as it can be done thats all I needed to know. Really appreciate all the help.

No problem man, I am glad I could help someone.

I have no personal experience with the chrome top, but the guys at my LHS recommended this box to me over the chrome-top-with-power-panel-and-battery RTR setup, they all said that they liked it better than the chrome top. Probably because of the twin 775 motors. Also, get a gel cell battery for it; it makes for a heavy setup but its worth it for the torque you get.
