I've had many problems with my pull start. right now it's locked up it pulled fine today but when i stopped for 20 minutes and tried pulling it again it was locked up. so i was wondering if i could put a bump start on my hyper 7.

Yes you can use bump start. my son had 1 a while back & converted it to bumpstart. I'l ck. w/ him & see where he got parts. Seems to me he got backplate from another engine & had to remove a piece from behind the pullstart i think it's some sort of fan looking thing , don't remember what it's called. Anyway it was real easy & the engine ran alot better (faster).

personally you would be much happier with a backplate and bumpstart... you engine will zing alot better... OWB causes drag on the starter shaft and actually slow the engine significantly even with a roto start setup... I am rebuilding a Hyper 7 right now and after I get the new hyper .21 engine broke in, I plan on getting a backplate if I can find one... I run all my vehicles with backplates now that I made the switch, there is that much of a noticable difference with acceleration, etc....

+2.. a starterbox IS the way to go, even for bashers.
