Hitec 7955 can be found for $90 if you look around. Buy once so you don't have to buy again!

I've used a Hitec 5645MG in 1/8 buggies and it's OK but the 7955TG is much better suited to the stresses placed on the steering of a 4WD vehicle. I use a 5645MG in my SC10 steering and it's powerful, probably overkill. It's more than enough for throttle/brake in a buggy. I use a 7955TG for the brakes on my 1/5 on road car and it stops a 30lb car on a dime. I think every time I've ever been disappointed with RC it's because I "saved money", I don't do that with servos anymore. All of my cars have more servo than they need and because of this I can't remember the last time I broke a servo. Buy a 7955TG and 5645MG and you'll have strong steering and great brakes.

Futaba S9351. I know it's a $120 servo but DAMN is it smooth and responsive, 200oz of torque at 6.0v. I got it installed on a RC8 that I got in a trade. Chances are I probably wouldnt have bought it if it wasn't already on the buggy but I tell you what. Seeing how badass this servo is and how well it performs, I would buy another one if I had to. The Hitec are nice, I had them on my last 1/8 nitro for throttle/break and steering and you wont break the bank on those. But I feel this Futaba servo will last forever.

You will spend more replacing a cheap servo multiple times than if you just step up and
get a good one the first time.

I run AE or Ace servos and they have been good to me, but they limit you RX pack choices.

Right now I would go with the tried and proven HiTech 7955. Bomb proof geartrain and
it will run on unregulated 2s LiPo rx pack.

Going with the BIGDOG on this one, go for the FUTABA servos. Have to say though that I have NO experience with the high tech servos as we cannt get them here.[sm=thumbs_up.gif]
