wow - never seen 10-10-2 in the diffs. How is that working for you?

wanna talk weird, Yannick Aigoin one of the top french drivers runs F/C/R 10K/5K/10K [X(] when i receive my car i will try this but it would probably stink on slow/technical tracks.

Hows it turn with 10-5-10?! [X(]. If the surface is loamy it would probly work really well actually because you get lots of power to both front or rear tires instead of just the inside tire getting all of the power.

I run 10-10-1 and so does Uberchav Alex (he recommended it to me), it's logical really, less action in the centre diff giving more 4x4 action, and less action in the front diff giving more pull through the corners. Since I used to race 1/10th on road, this really suits my 'on rails' driving style, as well as being very predictable when it does let go.

truggy, Truggy, ******** TRUGGY !!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING ??? It's an XB8 man, look at the flaming I got for just fiting a PBS suspension to one (Which has 2 A final wins to it now). Oh how your gonna get it in the neck now boy.

At least have the decency to use an XB8R for this project.

Couldn't agree with you more. By the way, Alex, I'm thinking of upgrading to an XB8 around christmas myself...

RE: My XB8 Setup sheet

Well 10 center normally gives you a lot of push because the power to the rear wheels pushs the front tires... the 1k rear probly cancels that out for the most part. I was thinking about trying that setup after hearing you and Alex talking about it in another post. I feel most comfortable when I'm flat tracking though so I usually have 3k in the rear to break the tires loose. I still don't understand 10-5-10. I might have to try that for myself.

Yeh, it's not good for on power turn in, but as an ex on-roader, that's not how I drive anyway. I brake before the corner, coast to the apex, and gun it out, this setup works well for this, the pull from the front is strong and it's not until the peak horsepower is reached that it really starts to push and by that time, I'm usually around the corner. It's not perfect for the sweepers though, tending to either push or let go, but I'll get used to it...I think I'm gonna remove the rear swaybar and stiffen up the rear suspension to combat this, 'cos the only sweeper on our track is in a fairly flat dusty concrete section...

I tried that too, but the problem is that stiffening up the rear just makes it step out on every bump. If the track is bumpy but flatish (less big air jumps) and sweeping, I'll remove the rear Sway bar but leave the shocks as is. This seems to stop the push you speak of, this also works great on small technical tracks with hairpins and chicanes all over, plus it's amazing on a wall of death.

RE: My XB8 Setup sheet

Well, in that case..... Since the rest of the track is super bumpy and technical, I won't piss around with the rear shocks just yet. I still haven't drilled out the pistons either, the back seems fine with standard pistons and 40wt, but I ended up putting 25wt in the front shocks just to get them up and down a bit quicker, I haven't had a chance to try it yet, due to weather...I'll let you know, ta....

Hi

I run on a very bumpy track and use this as my set-up

http://www.teamxray.com/xforum/xform...=173&setup=xb8

The buggy feels really planted and lap times have improved no end.

Mike
