the batteries probably went in your tx or rx when you were running at full throttle. happened to me before, now i have battery testers on all my cars.

Its because its a smartech. I've had some come in the hobby shop I used to work in that lost signal after 50ft. Nothing wrong with batteries, wiring, or anything in the electronics but the radio just didn't have the range. You get what you paid for.

If you are running Alkaline get rid of them My car did that once with alkaline in them needless to say. First thing to do is get a good reciever pack and not have the proplem again also get a fail safe to be on the save side also.

Everytime i go out with my buggy i first turn on the electronics and see how they work. You can tell if the batteries are low from the servos speed and power when turning the wheels or braking(without running the car). Also find a small spring and put it against the carb or servo horn so that it pulls the brakes when the servo is not responding. If you run out of batteries or for some reason the connections fail the spring will pull the servo or carb and stop the runaway.
