I use a 14T, it seems to be a good allrounder for a bit of bottom end and top end,

Thanks, I do use a starter box. Its a Ofna True Start universal starter box it has a 12v battery and has 2 motors. I've been using this starter box for 3 years and have had no trouble with it.

The stock clutch bell is a 13t cb, a 13-14 will do just fine. I use ofna cb's, you can find them anywhere.

cool, i'v seen where they have hyper7 specific clutch bells and i didn't know if you could just use standard ones. i have a 13 and a 14 already i just couldnt wait intill i got my buggy to find out for myself. i'm pretty stoked about getting a buggy, i'v raced stadium trucks and truggies and now i want to get my hands in buggy racing.

Are hyper 7 TQ sport good for racing because Im getting a kit soon and wondering if will be good for racing. I will install a Hyper .21 8port.

RE: OFFICIAL HYPER 7 THREAD

Yeah its not a bad racer. The 8 port engine is a good bucget engine too. I have one in my buggy. Be aware that it makes most of its power high up in the rev range and therefore is not so good on short tight tracks where low end power is more important.

RE: OFFICIAL HYPER 7 THREAD

ok cool I seen the Ofna Ravanger What do you think about that

RE: OFFICIAL HYPER 7 THREAD

They are ok. Good bashing buggies (less good for racing) but I'd still go with the hyper myself

RE: OFFICIAL HYPER 7 THREAD

I just started to race and am having trouble getting my Hyper 7 to turn sharp in the turns. The track I race on is a real tight technical course and this is causing a problem. I am running 5000 5000 1000 in my diffs and 35 in my front and rear shocks. I run panther tires. The track is a pretty hard surface. I have tried to adjust the brakes to slide my rear end around the turns and this has helped some but I really would like it to grab though the turns, not slide. If anyone has any ideas I really need them. Thanks

I am using a Team Orion 1600 battery with a JR Racing Z590M Metal High Torque Racing Servo. It is the TQ Hyper 7. Thanks again

RE: OFFICIAL HYPER 7 THREAD

You can get more throw by judicious use of a dremmel where the knuckles bind. You can try Changing your diff oil too, though 5000 sounds ok. Going thinner will give more steering into the corner off power, whilst thicker will give more out of the corner on power.
Otherwise your about as good as you will get

RE: OFFICIAL HYPER 7 THREAD

Does your radio have end point adjustments? you could get more steering by adjusting the steering end point.
