V-spec is a good engine, I bet it makes your 9.5 pretty quick.[8D]

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

Well I havent really drove it yet lol.But I had a rb ws7 2 and it just shot off the dang fail safe didnt work.So after all that bad stuff happin I went and got a v-spec which is just about the same thing.

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

Once you start driving it you will be happy with the V-spec. That sucks that your fail safe failed, that's what I am always afraid of happening.

Yea it took off and crash into a fence and I look at it to make sure nothin was brokin and there wasent. So I took my engin off to clean the car and the engine and I was just curious so I open the back plate to look n the engine and I look at the rod and it was crack. So when I touch it and thr rod fell apart and then the piston came down with it......I wasent talkin to no one that day lol.I only had that engine for 3 months and only had 1 gallon ran through it!But now im getting the spectrum 2 channel with a fail safe so it wont happin again.

Just got back from the track, man the violator flies, my tires came unglued though so I had to cut my track time short. I put Trininty 50 shock oil in my shocks and it made a huge diff on jumps. I am going to change my diff oil before my next run. Any suggestions on what ratio I shoud use. I am thinking 5000 front and 7000 center but I am undecided on the rear.

flash07 04-22-2007 09:59 AM

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

I just ask that question!But would you put 7k n front,center,and rear?

Force4x4 04-23-2007 06:08 AM

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

7K is a little to heavy for the front, 5K is more practical, 7K is good for the center, as for the rear some people like to go light, around 1K or 3K but I am not sure about this, 1K seems to light for a 1/8 buggy.

flash07 04-23-2007 02:46 PM

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

Well I already have 7k n the center so Ill try the 5k n the front and the 2 or 3k n the rear.

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

Have you changed your diff oils yet? I am curious to see how the rear diff worked out for you.

flash07 04-26-2007 05:18 PM

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

No Im goin to change the diff oil after I get my 2 channel Spektrum.

I went to the track today with my new Jammin JP-3 pipe and it is worth every penny, it is fast. Once again I can't keep tires glued on my Violator, does anyone else have this problem?[:@]

flash07 04-27-2007 03:18 PM

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

No never did have the tire problem thing.I did with my street force gp but never with my 9.5.What kind of glue r u useing?

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

I was using Trinity but that wouldn't hold so I switched to Tamiya and it still will not hold.[:'(]

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

I got my tires re-glued and I set up my diffs with a 5k-7k-2k setup and it was off to the track. I was tearin' up the place, almost untouchable and then it happened, I broke a front right turnbuckle coming off of a medium double and that was all she wrote, oh well, at least TH loves me.

flash07 04-29-2007 09:16 AM

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

Well Im sorry to hear that....well at least it wasent nothin major people break that part alot on Violators.I might end up making it less wide later but as of right now Im goin to get teh spektrum later on today for $169 @ my LHS.Then all Im goin to need are tires, side stone guards,gas,2k and 5k diff oil,and a new body that im going to paint silver and green ;)

Force4x4 04-29-2007 10:12 AM

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

Yeah, it's nothing major, a 5 minute fix that only costs a few bucks, I ordered the hardened steel ones for the 9.5 pro so hopefully I will not break one again. Post a pic of your Violator when you get it painted up, I would like to see it. I have some yellow wheels and Moab tires on the way for mine, I might throw on a yellow wing and yellow stone guards on as well.[8D]

Hey guys nice to see there are more ppl than just me that think that violators are racing machines. Tire glue problems, the best i have used is towers brand CA thick glue(CAUTION DRIES FAST) LOL. I race with the local guys and I have had on comment that i need to chop my a arms down to be legal. Have not done it yet but it is now on the agenda because i am going to race in a big race and im to wide. To anyone breaking Knuckles grab the ones for the mutallator there a derect fit and i have not broke em yet. Motor wise im running the werks B3 with a JP-1 incredible bottom end with that combo which is perfect for our short track.

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

Muskrat, thanks for joining the conversation, long live the Violator. Flash, glad to be of assistance. On the turnbuckles, I went to my LHS today which is heavy into Kyosho (go figure, I'm in Japan:)) and found that Kyosho makes a set of titanium turnbuckles that fit the Violator which is awesome because I shouldn't break titanium:D

The Violator is a great race buggy like Flash said, it just needs a few upgrades out of the box and once the a-arms are cut down it handles 100% better. I will post some pics of mine when I get all of the Yellow on it. My stoneguards should be in this week.[8D]

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread

hey force, How does a guy get his hands on those turnbuckles, I am cutting tonight on my a-arms good to hear my handling will get better when cut down. I got it handling great now so alittle more never hurts. I had to fight my but off to get my buggy to stop pushing through the corner. now i got it how i like it. just a little loose so i can slide into those tight spots on the track when i need a position
