If it is between the Hyper 7 and Hyper 8, then I would take the Hyper 8.

But don't just listen to my advice. I have my likings and dislikings like everybody else ;)

You can of course buy the Go engine, but you could use that money much better on a better buggy, radio and servos from the beginning.

The hyper 7 is older but if you buy the pro kit it is an excellent buggy. The hyper 8 is better but its more money and the hyper 7 pro is still excellent.
For a radio look for a JR XS3 synthesized FM (about £75 from hong kong) Be sure to get 40 MHz

Bloodlezz 07-07-2007 04:19 AM

RE: Good First Time Buggie?

Jesus, i cant really go over like £60 on radio can you find a good one for that ?

Captain Firearms 07-07-2007 04:23 AM

RE: Good First Time Buggie?

Starterbox: http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...oducts_id=6214

This one can actually start your engine.

Fuel: Get that in a local hobby shop. 25% Nitro is good.

Glow starter: You should be sure that you get one with a charger that can be used where you live. So go to the local hobby shop.

Radio: http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=14908

Much better than the synthesized model. And you can use the servos as well.

Hyper 7 may be an older model then the hyper 8 but it all comes down to how you drive :] sorry if this sounded a little mean.

If you are not going to race at a track, then you maybe should look at this:

http://www.benracing.co.uk/acatalog/...ruggy_RTR.html

It has everything you need except fuel and it is really good.

wat about a gs storm pro kit?

http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=22037

Bloodlezz 07-07-2007 06:17 AM

RE: Good First Time Buggie?

No, That costs alot more even without a engine !

jonnymac 07-07-2007 06:25 AM

RE: Good First Time Buggie?

Hyper 7 pro kit RCmart with 8 port engine ~£170
JR XS3 FM synth radio ~£75
Total £245 you shipping on those two will make it ~£300 total
Thats the basis of a good setup. You say you have batteries, You will need a good steering servo, starter box and glow starter, but you can save for them whilst you build it. You gotta start somewhere and you would need to buy most of this other stuff if you went RTR (except the starter box) anyway. Anyway you will have servos with it, they just wont last long and steer well.
Thats my opinion

RE: Good First Time Buggie?

Thanks for the info. But im sticking to the Hyper 7. I think its a better model and looks more reliable. So ill stick to that. Also can people tell me what the components do above ( With all the url links and stuff that i typed ) id like to know Thanks !

RE: Good First Time Buggie?

Directed to Captain FireArms - Im going to work for my dad for a while ( Ill get money ) and ill pay for the GO 21 Engine which should be good :)

Also is it possible to Take the transmitter and reciver from my eletric one and put it in the nitro one ?

I can get some pictures from my webcam if you need ? ( I stripped it down got bored )

Also i have a old nitro jumping one ( It jumps when you press a trigger )

I cant get into it its totally sealed down.

I could try open it from underneath

Would the transmitter/reciver work then ?

On top of that, you will need a starter box, an exhaust pipe, batteries for the starter box, a rechargeable 6v receiver pack, a charger for the rx pack and starter batts.

By the way, you've listed two radios, one sanwa POS, and a DX3. Go with the DX3, forget the sanwa. But you're still gonna need two servos, one of them expensive, the other cheap.

Bloodlezz 07-07-2007 02:32 PM

RE: Good First Time Buggie?

a exhaust pipe *** ? The car comes with one .. Also i forgot to say starter kit
