I completely mistook the overhead shot of the ocm car for a mugen mbx-5r, i thought it was the exact car...that's where I got that. It's not making anything up or saying anything unnecessary. the suspension arms look exactly the same, the bulkheads, shocks, shock towers are all the same geometry. If you can't see that youre either sponsored by ocm and a fanboy or just blind.

That's where I get the comparison.

RE: OCM BUGGY THREAD

yes the car shares (a few) features that are interchangable in between the mugen & OCM, but the rest of the buggy is totally original in design, geometry is different and other obvious parts.

it has nothing to do with being sponsered, im not and ive had the buggy for 3months now and checked it out before i bought one and only found that it is a different buggy that performs very well and is easy to use for anyone at any level, always do your research and i did get a first hand look at how the OCM performed on track and what it took to break anything on it and all i can say is its a very tough buggy, plastics are very strong as well as the shock towers.

one example i can give you would be one of the guys at our track flying at 60+km/h on the back straight over the cross over and WACK looses control and hits the tree just on the side of the back straight , the bumper it self took most of the impact and the only real damage was the left side of the front tower being bent back about 5 degree's from 90 roughly.

example 2. separate race meet

another OCM buggy flew over the 2nd double jumps and lands upside down and then 2sec. later another buggy fly's over the jump landing on top of the OCM at 50km/h snaping the left side lower arm at the begining.

and considering what OCM will be offering next year the price and quality is hard to go past, BB shocks ARR buggy kits and RTR kits both buggy&truggy.

go to your track and if there is a OCM there have a test drive for 10min.. find out what you can about the brand based on genuine oppinions, not "this buggy is better because i drive it and i like it" parts availability is great www.Amainhobbies.com is a strong supporter and will/do have all parts in stock as well as kits and the OCM team is very helpful in all aspects keep watch when the IFMAR 2008 US comes and you ll see Allen Burton and others, base your choice on perfromance and quality and also dont be fooled by prices its only a plus, have a look at Ian Hayley, he did very well in 2007 with the buggy so that shows what you can expect as well as from what you may have read in results from the US team.

What else is the buggy going to look like infernos777? You try and design a world class buggy thats also innovative, new and doesn't look like the current proven layout of 8th scale buggies.

1st off im not no fan boy! and second the car is good plane and simple and i dont say that becouse i am sponsored by them its just the facts.

Dennis, I think we would all do best to let it go. He was obviously inknowledgable (is that a word? lol) about buggies and design about buggies in general. The OCM is a great buggy, and all of us that run it know that.

A company already did that, it's called the Team Losi 8ight. oh and Associated did it too with the rc8. hmm two companies innovating, what a novel idea.

Yes it's difficult to design new cars and designs but that doesn't mean you just straight up copy another car.

Whatever, good luck guys. the ocm thing is already taking care of itself and i doubt it'll be an issue 2yrs from now.

hmm yea copy of a another buggy, right. shock towers, radio plate, rear arms, ball type steering.. mate doesnt even sound like youve had a really good look at a OCM yet so dont say its exactly the same design of the other mentioned buggy.
