Hyper 7 hub extensions/truck conversion advice needed!

Hi,to put monster truck tires on a hyper 7,without the front tires hitting the srm etc when turning what extenders will workd preferably 17mm?Howmuch dp they need to be extended? Will the ofna hub extenders work?
Also any other cheap upgrades to make a hyper 7 more like a monster truck/buggy?Upgrades that will make it more fun to bash...

Ok thaanks for that.but im making a 23cc weed eater engine on a hyper 7,and making my own longer chassis.but figger since i need it for bashing,i need strong tires, and monster truck tires will produce less torque which is what i need also.
So what are the problems with this, torque is not a problem, will it destroy the diffs or something?
Also will the ofna extenders work the monster truck tires? How long do the extenders need to be?
Also my real thread is in the latge scale forum under homemade rc project, there is nothing much there apart from a few quick pics.

i have 1.5'' 17mm hub extensions on my Raze with truggy tires...works perfect..and since the Raze is based off the Hyper 7 you should have no problems

but you may want to upgrade to aluminum clutch shoes...

The diffs will probably go with the bigger wheels, that's my main concern if I end up converting it... but with yours you are adding the extra weight of an engine onto the chassis as well ( I'm not sure that it will effect it though). The Ofna extenders will work with the hyper st wheels and any other 17mm wheels. Another set of extenders you might want to look at is the pro-line ones. They enable you to use there pro-line 40 series monster truck wheels, there much bigger... but the extenders are much more expensive.
Here's a link to the pro-line extenders.

I know the above is his parts list for the Ultra series but Motionmachine999 in that forum is the man when it comes to truggy conversions. He has a web site that shows his work and he would be glad to speak to you I am sure.:D

Yes those will work, however you ARE going to want to change your gearing and clutch other wise you will end up burning up your clutch very fast.

RE: Hyper 7 hub extensions/truck conversion advice needed!

Yes the diffs will be ok but you will want heavier weights in them and you will want to change your spur gear out along with making sure you have the hardend ring gears front and rear. Do yourself a favor and go check out Motionmachine999's posts in the other forum and check out his web site......he makes a great roll cage also! The info I have been giving is just what I have picked up from reading his posts.:D

This is his website.
