GAS AIR BOAT
HI ALL THINKING ON BUILDING A GAS AIR BOAT . THE ONLY THING IS I DONT KNOW HOW LONG OR HOW WIDE TO MAKE IT . ANY BODY KNOW THE MESUREMENTS ON A GAS AIRBOAT ? THINKING ON SCALEING UP MY NITRO AIRBOAT TO MAKE A BIGER ONE LIKE IT .I JUST NEED TO KNOW THE SCALE UP TO SIZE FOR A GAS ENGINE .

HI THE SIZE OF MY NITRO IS 26 INCHS LONG AND 15INCHS WIDE . NOT SURE THE SIZE OF GAS ENGINE IM GOING TO USE YET . I WAS THINKING OF USEING A ZENOAH 260 OR A WEED EATER ENGINE . I DONT KNOW WHAT SIZE PROP TO USE ON THESE TWO ENGINES .

I Think most gas motors are in the 18" - 20" prop range - hull would be 20-22" x 40" ? wait - don't take my word for it. there are a LOT of guys on here running gas motors - hopefully they will chime in soon.

If you go with a weedeater engine, a 16 will be too big, go with the 14.

26"s would be better for width. Look into a CY27cc engine. They sell them on e bay for aprox. $150.00. They come with pull start and are powerful and reliable. All you would need for the engine is a prop hub and you can get them from MudMasher Airboats. He also sells engine mounts and stands if you need it. Dennis

I recommend finding a full size hull to your liking and get the dimensions off it and adjust to your desired scale. I myself run 1/4 scale due to thefact its easy to scale down and fabricate from.
