Default 21cc echo flatbottom build

Im running a 13x6...0r 8 cant remember. No tach but she revs pretty high.I need a longer prop hub but I need a hull first.
38"x20" top.18" bottom 2" sides.
Fiberglass sheets,wood/fiberglass construction.gonna try to keep her around 10lbs or less.Expect a slow build.Just wanted to share.

gonna add more bulkheads, those runners will have threaded nutserts to bolt the engine skid too

no plans just winging it and I may raise the bow a lil.Hull will be fiberglassed with thin cloth, single or double rudder.......im not sure yet.

Looking good so far for seven hours. Curious what kind of sheeting your using, looks like some form of stipple ceiling tile? I'm not sure what depth other people are going with but 2" seems kind of shallow, wonder if that'll be an issue when running in water? Have you resolved the prop shaft yet?

the sheeting is called frp http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded...9600/100389836
used for walls on boats, buildings. Its kinda heavy for this application but its what I have on hand.

2" may be too low Im not sure,I may add bulwarks.
Havent got the prop sorted out yet Im offshore on a drilling rig for 2 weeks.Gonna try the 13x pusher first but I think I need a 2 blade 13 or 12".

delima.Weighed the un completed hull and its 8lbs.I expect another 2lbs when complete.
echo weighs 4 lbs full dressed with mount.
28cc husqavarna bare bones no recoil or mount weighs 4.5 lbs,If I bypass the clutch I can shave about a lb.
so a 28 cc hull probly needs to be larger.Im at a roadblack at this time.Run the 28cc upsidedown bare bones with a starter cone on the recoil side, use the 13" prop but leave room for a 15" 3 blade pusher.
I'll just deal with the weight and not be able to ride on land

That sounds quite heavy unfortunately. Sometimes it can be of great benefit to back track and make a different attempt depending on what outcome you were hoping for. I myself am considering an airboat of similar design only with a body or boogie board like the one posted entitled gas airboat project. The boards weigh less than 1lb or so, so it's a great advantage to start with. You could fashion a motor mount/stand so that it can be swapped easily from one model to another if you choose to that way if this model just isn't going to work for you at least the mount portion can be utilized on another model easily and no wasted effort in that regard.

I stand corrected on the weight, may not be too heavy after all
