Maximum engine size with standard servos.

Is there a max engine size I should use in order not to strip my rudder servo? I have just your standard plastic geared Futaba servos (S148 I think, not sure though). I haven't built the boat and my engine choices are .09, .15, .29, .35 abd .45. I know the smaller engines will be just fine and won't damage the servo but what about the .35 and .45?

You should be ok with all those engine choices - I like to make my rudder hinge point somewhere near the center of the rudder - so it does'nt take as much torque to turn the rudder at full throttle. Dave

My favorite motor to use is a .46 and I have no problem with my standard servos. Futaba 3003 servos
If you flip and hit your rudder, you may strip the gears if the rudder gets slammed to the maximum throw.
